The IEC offers students from all parts of the world a unique opportunity to learn English in a stimulating academic atmosphere, which is at the same time friendly and welcoming. The year-round program features five 8-week sessions of intensive English as Second Language (ESL) instruction, combined with orientation to university customs, academic preparation, and an introduction to life in the United States.
The International English Center offers several programs to meet the needs of its diverse student population. It offers English skills and college preparation classes for beginning to advanced students. Unlike all other CU entities, the IEC uniquely uses its website to generate interest and student attendance, as a complete business generation vehicle in addition to providing information, help and support, and allowing prospective, new and past students to access a variety of important resources in one central place.
The CU-IEC came to RiotLabs to completely redesign, develop in Drupal, and deploy a website that would stand alone as a self-contained, branded entity, while simultaneously fitting comfortably within the CU brand and network of associated websites. It was a challenge. The result speaks for itself. Maintaining the authoritative, classic look and feel of the CU brand, while demonstrating a contemporary, fresh, young and international outlook was potentially a conflict of interests. Through heavy consulting and extensive UI/UX discovery, we crafted a site that serves all stakeholders effectively.
